Ok, don't laugh -- my first entrepreneurial effort was a lemonade stand at the age of 7. Can you relate? Looking back, that was also my first experience with 'private investor funding' - my Mom, of course.
Much later, after years as a nurse both at the bedside and in administrative roles, I was ready for a strategic change and went back to college to bring graphic design and web design to our technology consulting company's services. Eventually, as markets do, the technology market reinvented itself and so did we. We kept the technology company, modified our focus, and diversified into real estate investing
Over a decade later and lifetimes of business experience under our collective belt, we noticed a common issue cropping up again and again with our coaching clients and business colleagues. Too many (including us in the early startup days of our technology consulting company) saw their growth too limited by inadequate capital, not realizing that bank funding alone isn't always the right answer.
So here I am, with lemonade, graphic design, nursing, and real estate behind me, working closely with our select clientele, matching them with private investors in our elite ultra-affluent network and providing coaching to a limited number of clients. |
